Open Data for Development (OD4D), as a global network, has been committed to advancing the understanding, use, and impact of open data. Our projects have supported critical research and the evolution of open data ecosystems in developing countries around the world to spur social change, increase government transparency, and support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

During its third and final phase, OD4D’s objectives were to facilitate the use of data for improving gender equality and inclusion, good governance, and economic growth. Activities were aimed at fostering change collaboratively by working with multiple stakeholders – governments, civil society, the private sector, and technical experts. We are sincerely grateful for all the support received over the years from donors, regional hubs, partners, and the myriad of stakeholders we have worked with.

With all of the OD4D organisations now having transitioned to the new and expanded Data for Development Network (D4D.net), the work under the OD4D network has officially come to an end. We invite all to review the Final Report below and to join us at D4D.net as we continue to work to advance the use of data to address critical development challenges and shape a more inclusive response to development challenges by bringing southern perspectives to the forefront.
